The Pariyanampatta Bhagavathi Temple is one of the famous temples of Kerala, dedicated to Bhagavathy. This is one of the largest Devi temples of Valluvanad Desam in Palghat district. The presiding deity is known as the Goddess of 14 Desams. The temple and its precincts resemble that of Mookambika temple Kollur.

Pooramaholsavam is the famous festival of the temple comes on Kumbham 1-7 and attracts a large number of devotees. "Moorthiyaatom" on the eve of Pooram (Valiyaarattu) is the unique feature of this temple. Vela is before the star Pooram in the month of Makara. Pooram starts on the 1st Kumbha with the hoisting of the temple flag. Vishuvilakku is celebrated on 1st of Medom. Laksharchana is performed permanently in the month of Karkitaka. Karthika Vilakku is celebrated in Vrichika during the star Karthika, with various programmes 17 km away from Ottapalam on Ottapalam–Mannarkad route and 30 km away from Palghat on Palghat-Cherpulachery route.

Sri Pariyanampatta Temple is one of the famous Goddess Temple in South India. Located in Kattukulam, Palakkad district, Kerala.

According to mythology, before 1400 years one of the member in great Pariyampatta mana is decided to visit Mookambika temple along with servant. And they visited Mookambika Devi and received the blessings and done Bhajan in front of the goddess. In front of goddes, they desided that they will do Devi Bhajan in their entire life, and they return to Home, In between the journey they rested beside a river. The Great Bharahmana opens his bag and saw a ‘THIDAMBU’. He understood the things by using contemplate power.

He decided to incarnate the ‘THIDAMBU’ there itself. In the presence of 14 natives and the land-lords of Kollam, Nellur, leading by Pottakkattu Moothapanikkan and incarnate by famous Pariyanampatta Eykkattumana Thirumeni. After that Pariyanampatta Eykkattumana Thirumeni decided to give the administration to Parambottile Nair. (Parambottile Nair’s are the Main land-lords of that native, and they are also called ‘Pattali’). The servant is appointed as ‘Velichappadu’ (He is the eldest member of Chalavara Parola)

Around 450 years back Padanayanmar fights and they bought the Temple under their control. The river which was flown near the temple, later turned as Temple Pound. The Local Guardian of the temple is now Thrikkadeeri Mooppil Nair, he is the eldest member of Kannannoor Pada Sowroopam.

The Manager and The Trustees from Malabar Devaswom Board is ruling now. Every achievement in the temple by the donation and Vazhipadu of devotees.
